Pebble 2 button fix

by Cedric A. Solidon — buttons wear out; moulded Sugru replacements hold up longer (though firmer).

Note: This procedure usually ends water resistance. Proceed with eyes open.

1. Get the 3D plan

Search Thingiverse for pebble2 side cover by Yusukeyusuke and download the mould files.

2. Print your mould

ABS works well. Chase detail — soft mushy prints make soft mushy buttons. 3D Hubs / local printers are fine if you lack a machine.

3. Form the buttons

Two packs of Sugru: one for the button blank, one to bond it. 24h cure. Use a release agent (cling film, petroleum jelly, or baking spray) so Sugru leaves the mould cleanly.

4. Attach

Thin Sugru on the case corners, seat the new button, clean squeeze-out, wait the full cure. Test clicks before you call it done.
